ESSENTIAL COMMUNICATION SKILLS

‘We have two ears and one mouth so that we can listen twice as much as we speak.’ Epictetus

Effective communication requires skills, feedback, practice and sometimes useful insights and models. Many people communicate reasonably well. But we are not perfect – and don’t need to be as far as I am concerned. Yet, wouldn’t it be nice to have some skills and ideas especially in situations when the going gets tough? We all experience situations that one feels misunderstood, hurt or taken aback by someone’s (challenging) behaviour? How can we deal effectively in such situations? This training will provide helpful tools and techniques for your own personal communication toolkit. Such a toolkit always comes in handy.

My training approach is interactive and aims to focus on real-life experiences. I will encourage you to identify your qualities and pitfalls of your own personal communication style so that you can deal with others with more self-confidence and authenticity. I believe that you cannot be anyone other than yourself. You’ll look at what gets in the way of you being a more effective communicator.
